Political Participation

Course Objectives

This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive knowledge of American government. Students will form an understanding of the historical development, organizing principles and present-day practices of government in the United States. The qualifications, roles, responsibilities and powers of various government officials and departments will also be covered. In addition, the rights and responsibilities of citizens will be expolred in this course, allowing students to better shape their role as future citizens.

Class Expectations
 
Students are expected to arrive on time each day for class, prepared with their textbook, notebook, paper and writing instrument. Completing reading assignments, preparing for tests, completing homework and written assignments is the responsibility of each student. Each student is also expected to be a positive addition and active participant in the class.
